Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother & friend, Mary Lou Shaw Haskell, passed away from a heart attack Tuesday afternoon, August 15, 2006.
She was born in Nephi, June 10, 1927, to Louis T. Shaw and Lillian Sarah Jane Haycock Shaw. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Elva Davis, brother, Earl Shaw, son and grandson.
She was raised in Nephi, graduating from Juab High School and Seminary.
She married Afton R Haskell, in the Manti LDS Temple, August 14, 1945. They had just celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. They are the parents of 5 children: Linda (Lynn) Coray, Patricia Ann (Mark) Downing, Karen (Jerry) Fraughton, Shawna (David) Wagaman and Chester Afton Haskell (deceased). They have 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Primary teacher, Relief Society Presidency and visiting teacher.
Mary Lou loved to be busy helping her husband on their farm, sewing many of her children's clothes, including formals and wedding dresses. She has knit afghans and sweaters for her family. We will treasure the memories that we have of her.
