Mrs. Lavern Vandeventer, 43 of Ferguson died at the Evangelical Hospital Saturday night where she had been a patient for the last two weeks. She had been in failing health for the last six months and had been hospitalized intermittently in Iowa City and in Marshalltown.
Born Dorothy Louise Haskell, Nov. 21, 1916, in Marshall County, she was the daughter of William H., and Julia Haskell. She received her education in the schools of Marshall County and was graduated from the Ferguson High School in 1934.
ON APRIL 8, 1950, she was married to Lavern Vandeventer and they had always lived in Marshalltown and Ferguson. Mrs. Vandeventer attended the Ferguson Christian Church.
Preceding her in death were her mother, a sister, Yokosuka, Japan. Also surviving are her father, two brothers and five sisters, George and W. F. Haskell, Jr., both of Des Moines, Mrs. Jerome Lunde of Traer, Mrs. Orville Kramer of Tower, Minn., Mrs. Ed Wooldridge and Mrs. James Lovig, both of Marshalltown, and Miss Grace Haskell, Burbank, Calif.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
