Arthur T. Haskell, Jr., beloved husband of Lois (Smith) Haskell of South Windsor, died Sunday, (November 12, 2000) at a local nursing home.
Born in Hartford on Aug. 31, 1931, son of the late Arthur T. Haskell, Sr., and Frances (Guilmartin) Haskell, he had lived in South Windsor for the last 41 years. He graduated from Weaver High School in 1950 and was employed as a stereotyper apprentice at C.S.W. Plastictypes of Rocky Hill, where he was employed for ten years. Mr. Haskell was employed by the Hartford Times for 15 years as a stereotyper/ photo-engraver, becoming foreman on the night shift and before retiring in 1993, he was employed for 15 years as a drill specialist at Stanadyne of Windsor. He was a member of the International Stereotypers Union for 25 years, was a member of the Photo Engravers Union and was a charter member of the South Windsor Lions Club.
Besides his wife of 47 years, Lois, he leaves two sons and a daughter-in-law, Arthur T. Haskell, III and Deb of Enfield and Robert A. Haskell of South Windsor; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda A. and Jeffrey Mullen and Susan A. and Mark Gundersen, all of Manchester; and five grandchildren, Charles Gundersen and his wife, Daniella, Robert and Jennifer Gundersen, and Joshua and Jesse Mullen.
