McCormick - James Haskell, the son of the late Paul and sally Statum Haskell, died at his home Sunday at 1 a.m. after a sudden illness.
He was a mamber of New Hope Baptist Church and the Bethany Masonic Lodge. He was custodian of McCormick High School.
He was married twice, first to the late Mrs. Carrie Haskell.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Inez Settles Haskell; three daughters, Mrs. Mamie Lee Gilchrist, and Miss Verta Haskell, both of McCormick and Mrs. Carrie Lou Freeman of Florence; five sons, Timothy, Curtis and Willlie of Chicago, Ill., M.Sargent Roosevelt Haskell, U.S. Air Force, Compton, Calif., and Robert Haskell, U.S. Navy, Los Angeles, Calif.; four step children, Ulysses Freeman of Greenwood, Miss Brenda Freeman and Mrs Lucretia Sproll, both of McCormick; two sisters, Mrs. Eula Mattison of Mccormick and Mrs. Gladys Phipps of New York City, N.Y.; one brother, Otis Haskell, of Richmond, Va.; 20 grandchilldren and 2 great-grandchildren.
