Harold A. "Bumpsie" Campbell, 75, of Danvers, formerly of Beverly, husband of Virginia G. (Hurd) Campbell, died December 24, 2006, at the Hunt Nursing and Retirement Home in Danvers.
Born in Beverly, son of the late Alan and Winifred (Gallagher) Campbell, he was a graduate of Beverly High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Campbell had been employed as a heavy equipment operator for the IUOE Local 4 for 50 years prior to his retirement. A resident of Beverly for many years, he was a member of many different clubs in Beverly, including the Beverly Golf and Tennis Club, Kelly's Green, the Union Club, the Herman A. Spear Post No. 331, the Italian Community Club and the Elks Club.
In addition to his wife, with whom he had shared more than 50 years of marriage, Mr. Campbell is survived by two sons, William "Bill" Campbell and his wife, Patty, of Beverly and Timothy Campbell and his wife, Jodi, of Ipswich; three daughters, Donna Titel and her husband, Dr. Kenneth Titel, of Topsfield, Beth Taranto and her husband, Thomas Taranto, Esq., of Marblehead, and Jo-Ann Campbell and her companion, Dewain Channell, of Charlton; nine grandchildren, Tabitha Michaud, Staci Campbell, Joseph Messina, Adam Campbell, Jennifer Campbell, Morgan Campbell, Matthew Campbell, Cameron Titel and Nicholas Titel; two brothers, Robert Campbell of Beverly and Richard Campbell of Chelsea; two sisters, Christine MacDonald of Beverly and Deborah Barnes of Trenton, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also father of the late Thomas J. Campbell.
