Raymond L. Hanks passed away April 27, 2007 in Visalia, CA at the age of 87. He was born July 25, 1919 in Paskenta, CA as the second of eight children to Hazel Uhl Hanks and Albert Hanks.
After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII he returned home and married Ethel Plumb, they had five children.
Over the years, the family lived in Paskenta, Corning and Red Bluff.
Raymond worked at Crane Mills in Paskenta until he retired, at which time he moved to Jones Valley where he love fishing on Lake Shasta.
He also had a wonderful hobby of using his welding skills to make unusual, one-of-a-kind items out of things a lot of people would have discarded.
Raymond was preceded in death by infant son, John Raymond Hanks, elder sister Yvonne Haley and younger brothers Lyle Hanks, Ashley Hanks, Marion Hanks and Leonard Hanks. In addition to his second wife, Mary Ann.
He is survived by two brothers, Glenn Hanks of Paskenta and Floyd Hanks of Redding. Four children, Barbara Laurence of Sacramento, CA., Beverly Watson of Shinnston, WV., Donald Hanks of Caneyville, KY., and Bonnie Hanks of Tucson, AZ., six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
