• Notes

  Winthrop Allison Haskell served in the US Maritime Service from May to October 1941, then on merchant vessels to October 1943 operating in the North Atlantic and in the Mediterranean for the invasion of Italy in September 1943. He joined the US Navy on 10 October 1943 and served on an LCI until February 1945, then to the Haskell Class "APA-193", an attack transport, to service at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was sent to a Fleet Hospital at Noumea, New Caledonia, then to San Francisco.
