DALEVILLE — Kenneth Leon Haskell, 66, resident of Daleville, won his battle with cancer Saturday, June 6, 2015, and now resides with his Lord in Heaven.
He was born in Anderson on March 5, 1949, the son of Arza Haskell and Betty Adkins-Sportsman.
He attended Pendleton Heights High School and was an avid Daleville Athletics supporter. He drove a school bus for Daleville for many years and was a member of the United Auto Workers.
He retired from Chrysler Corp. in New Castle after 31 years and coached youth football, softball and baseball in the Shenandoah area. He loved Shenandoah softball and was a member of the Glad Tidings Church in Muncie.
Survivors are his wife, Debby of Daleville; children, Shelly Kimmerling (Mark Ballinger) of Middletown, Marcy Gaines (Andre') of Connersville and Kyle Leon Haskell of Anderson; stepchildren, Jamie Scamihorn and Joshua Scamihorn; a brother, Willis Kent (Cathy) Haskell Sr. of Yorktown; grandchildren, Lizy (Nick) Schmidt, Aimee (Chance) Reagan, Felicia Nicholson, Emelia Nicholson, Cody Riggs, Andrew Haskell, Kylee Haskell, Kaety (Gwen) Keckhafer, Jonathon Scamihorn and Andrew Scamihorn; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Willis Kent Haskell Jr.; stepdaughter, Andrea Scamihorn; and stepfather, Verne Sportsman.
