Alva Augusta "Gusty" Haskell was raised by her mother's sister Almira (Shaw) Foote and her husband James Foote.
Note that in 1871 census Alva A. Haskell aged 12, is living with James and Almira Foote.

At Short Beach, Yarmouth Co., Mrs. Alva A. Trask, passed away very suddenly on Sunday, Jan. 18, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Harris. The deceased was eighty-nine years of age, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Haskell, Sandford, Yarmouth County.
Her husband predeceased her several years ago, but surviving are a large number of relatives, including two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Haskell of Argyle, and Mrs. Riley Haskell of Port Maitland.
Interment in Port Maitland Cemetery.

There passed away very suddenly, Sunday morning, Jan. 18th, at the advanced age of 89 years and one month, Mrs. Augusta Trask, widow of Charles Trask, Port Maitland. She made her home the past years with her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Harris, Short Beach; Mrs. Trask in spite of her years was very active and her passing came as a shock to a wide circle of friends. She possessed a very friendly Christian character and was admired by young and old alike. She was a member of the Chegoggin United Baptist Church.
Mrs. Trask was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Haskell of Sandford, where she spent the early years of her married life, later moving to Port Maitland.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Samuel Harris, Short Beach, and two sons, Arnold and Herbert, both of Sandford; one sister, Mrs. Ida Wiggins, Danvers, Mass,; one brother, David Haskell, Port Maitland; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hattie Haskell, Port Maitland and Mrs. Mary Haskell of Glenwood, sisters-in-laws also survive.
