  New Hampshire Union Leader (Manchester, NH) October 5, 2004 NORWICH, Vt. -- Dr. W. Douglas Kipp, 83, died Oct. 3, 2004. He was born in Springfield, Mass., Oct. 28, 1920, the son of Walter D. Kipp and Helen Lyster Kipp. He graduated from Charlemont (Mass.) High School, Mount Hermon School, and in 1943 from Dartmouth College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he served as commanding officer of the USS PC 1119 in the Pacific. His awards include the American Theater medal, Asiatic-Pacific medal with one engagement star, Philippines Liberation medal, the World War II Victory medal, and the Command-at-Sea emblem. Dr. Kipp graduated from Tufts College Dental School in 1951 and opened an office in Wolfeboro, N.H., where he practiced for 35 years. Dr. Kipp was a 36-year member of the Wolfeboro Fire Department, serving 14 as assistant chief. Family members include his wife of 57 years, Ruth (Bette) Stanley Kipp; a daughter, Nancy Kipp Rosenblum of Norwich; a son, Jonathan Douglas Kipp of Londonderry, N.H.; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
