GRANTHAM, LEWIS CLARK , age 61, of Birmingham died Saturday, January 14, 1995. He was a member of McElwain Baptist Church, Huffman Masonic Lodge #633, and Chapter Chairman of The Society of Manufacturing Engineers #143. He was a Tool & Die Maker for Alabama Metal Industries and had previously been Manager for Drum Parts South, Inc.
His ancestry includes original settlers of Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Massachusetts, including three families on the Mayflower in 1620.
Services will be held on Monday, January 16, 1995 @ 2:00 P.M. from Ridout's Roebuck East Chapel in Trussville with burial in Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Rev. Butch Oglesby officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Madelyn (Skinner) Grantham, and a great nephew, David Kenney.
Survivors include: wife, Jena Grantham; daughter, Gina Grantham of Birmingham; three step-sons, Kevin, Paul, and Matthew Beason all of Birmingham; three sisters, Marion Gilbert of Princeton, Ill., Eleanor Farrell of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Linda (Carl) Stengele of Fox River Grove, Ill.; brother, Frederick (Betty) Grantham of Miami, Fla.; grandson, Jonathan Lewis Grantham of Birmingham.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 until 7:00 at Roebuck East in Trussville. Please make memorials to McElwain Baptist Church. Ridout's Roebuck East in Trussville is directing. His many friends will remember his ready smile, love of a joke, and wry sense of humor.
