CUMBERLAND - Charles Kitchener MacGray, 81, of Cumberland, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at his home. Born April 15, 1926, in Needham, Mass., he was the son of the late Charles LaVerne MacGray and Constance Ellen (Kitchener) MacGray. He was also preceded by a twin sister, Constance Powell.
Charles was retired from Sacred Heart Hospital as a Lab Manager and was employed with the Medical Eyebank of Western Maryland. He was interested in woodworking, gardening, and after retirement, worked with SOWERS Mission Work. Charles was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara J. (Knights) MacGray; two sons, Scott E. MacGray and wife Cindy, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Steve K. MacGray and wife Sue, of LaVale; a daughter, Beth E. Winebrenner and husband Rick, of Cresaptown, four sisters, Enid MacGray, of Needham, Mass., Lorna Tuthill, of Long Island, N.Y., Elaine Starrett, of Rockport, Mass., and Janet MacGray, of Kingston, R.I.; four grandchildren, Jeremy MacGray and wife Krysta, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Charis Petty and husband Andrew, of Williamsburg, Va., Sheri Orndorff and husband Brian, of Hagerstown, and Aaron MacGray and wife Lizzie, of Cumberland, and two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Jeremiah MacGray.
