• Notes

  EX/5616 Royal Marine Captured 1 June 1941 on Crete. Arrived Salonika, Greece on20 August 1941 en route to Stalag IV -B arriving 23 August. Transferred to Stalag IV-A at Hoyerswerda on 14 October. He was assigned to work in coalmines 15 km southwest; at Weidnitz. He died in a mining accident on 6 December 1941.He was initially buried with full military honours near the stalag and was re-buried on 9 June 1947 at the British War Cemetery, Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany.
