  Luce Funeral Chapel David Delbert "Crockett" Haskell, Jr., 59, of Eagle Butte, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Golden Living Center of Ipswich. David Delbert Haskell, Jr. was born February 25, 1956, at the Old Cheyenne Agency on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota; the son of David D. Haskell, Sr. and Barbara M. Zephier. David will be remembered for his charismatic personality, storytelling and his ability to make fast friends. If you met him, you wouldn't forget him. He attended the 212 Day School, Eagle Butte Boarding School, and the Pierre Indian School. Crockett enjoyed Native American dance and made his own traditional outfit so he could attend pow-wows. He was a natural horseman who loved to ride, and trained a number of horses for various ranches. David joined the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. Upon completion of his service, he married Cheryl Four Bear and they had two sons, Chas and David III. Crockett was also artist and attended Santa Fe School of Arts. He created contemporary Native American jewelry, beadwork, and leatherwork. David is survived by his wife, Cheryl Four Bear of Swiftbird, SD; his children: Wade Bowles of Pierre, Chas (Robin) Haskell of Lawrence, KS, and David Haskell III of Pierre, SD; four grandchildren; his siblings: Elizabeth (Percy) Sanford of Dupree, SD, Dana Sherman Haskell of Las Vegas, NV, Tamala Key Haskell of Macy, NE, Delaine Reed Haskell of Phoenix, AZ, Michael James Haskell of Dupree, SD and Lori Lee Haskell of St. Paul, MN.
