  Daily Herald (Provo, UT) November 19, 2006 Wayne LaVell Gasser, 78, passed away November15, 2006 at his home in Payson. He was surrounded by family, and slipped away peacefully. He was born in Payson, Utah on February 22, 1928, to Ernest Wayne and Verda Huff Gasser. He married Patricia Lunt on March 22, 1949. They had 20 wonderful years and 5 children together. She passed away in December, 1970. He married Janice Tischner on June 3, 1971. Together they added 6 more children to the family and have enjoyed 35 years of marriage, the last few years of which, Mom has taken great care of Dad as he gradually succumbed to Alzheimer's disease. Even up to the very end, he displayed devotion and concern for his wife and children. LaVell loved spending time with his family, working the farm, and riding his horses. Except for the two years he served in the Navy, he lived less than two miles from where he was born. He never forgot a joke, and always made us laugh. He was employed by the U. S. Postal service and retired after 37 years of service. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, loved studying the scriptures, and serving in various callings. His greatest love and source of joy was his family. His grandchildren and great grandchildren always brought a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He is survived by his loving wife Janice; his brother, Vernile (Doris) Gasser; his children, Lynette (Robert) Zeeman; Karen (Kim) Montague; Troy (Cindie) Gasser; Ryan (Tiffany) Gasser; Greta (Joe) Bradford; all residing in Payson; Wayne (Pam) Gasser, of Delta; Ruth Ann (David) Patten, of Salt Lake City; Kymberlee (Brett) Wilson, of Providence; Tara (Mark) Broberg, of Mapleton; Andrea (Matt) Bartholomew of Spanish Fork, and a son in law, Jim (Shelby) Bown, of Centerville. He is also survived by 44 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. LaVell was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Lunt Gasser; his parents; his two sisters, Leila McDonald; and Nelda Degraw; and his daughter Patricia Diane Bown. He will be deeply missed, and affectionately remembered. "Life does not begin with birth, nor does it end with death." 'Till we see you again…
