ROCHESTER - Vera A. (Bisbee) Underhill, 95, of Rochester, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Forestview Nursing Home in Wareham. She was the wife of the late Frederick W. Underhill Sr. Born and educated in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late H. Dwight and Sarah (Mosher) Bisbee of Saugus. Mrs. Underhill graduated from Framingham State College, class of 1935.
Mrs. Underhill was formerly employed as an Extension Agent in Essex County, and worked as a teacher at New Bedford Vocational High School. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rochester, the Framingham State College Alumni Association, the Massachusetts Teacher's Retirement Association and the Rochester Historical Society.
Mrs. Underhill was co-author of two books, "Creative Hooked Rugs" and "Blessing of a Legacy".
Survived by her son, Frederick W. Underhill Jr.; three grandchildren, Kimberly Underhill Correia and Matthew and Mark Underhill all of Rochester; and five great grandchildren.
