  Find-a-Grave Dennis E. Shimp, 72, died September 26, 2014 at Box Butte General Hospital.He was born on June 3, 1942 in Alliance to Arthur P. and Nola M. (Nowlan) Shimp. He graduated in 1961 from Alliance High School. He then began working for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company and later the Jack & Jill Grocery store here in Alliance.He joined the U.S. Army on January 23, 1964. His service included a tour of Vietnam working as a Communications Service Specialist. He was honorably discharged on January 9, 1967. On October 5, 1968 he was united in marriage to Kathy J. Norris in Hedrick, Iowa. To this union two children, Douglas and Kari were born. Denny worked for the C.B. & Q. Railroad, later Burlington Northern for 30 years. He then began his own business, Track Tech Inc., which he has operated with his family for 20 years. He was a member of the Eagles Club. He was preceded in death by his parents.
