HAVERHILL — Clifton Earle Robinson, 90, a longtime resident of Haverhill, died Sunday evening, Sept. 23, 2007 at his daughter's home in Melbourne, Fla.
He was born in Haverhill on April 19, 1917, son of the late George W. Robinson Sr. and Effie M. (Holley) Robinson.
He attended the Haverhill schools and graduated from Haverhill High School, Class of 1936. Mr. Robinson was a Navy veteran of World War II, and was employed as a Postal Carrier in Haverhill for 28 years, and was also a machinist for 17 years at Davis & Furber in North Andover.
Mr. Robinson was a former member and trustee at the former People's United Methodist Church in Bradford, member of the AMVETS in Haverhill, and was a former Eagle Scout.
He was the husband of the late Marjorie L. (Haskell) Robinson and is survived by his daughter, Carole A. and her husband Wallace Furber of Melbourne, Fla.; two grandsons, Jeffrey Furber and David Furber and his wife Heather; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kieran and Joshua; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Diane Robinson; brother of the late George W. Robinson Jr. and Estelle Mattinson.
