Eliot Huse Middleton, born October 3, 1948, passed away peacefully at Marist Hill Nursing Home in Waltham late Saturday night November 24.
His parents, Elinore and Irving Middleton, were loving and caring of Eliot's needs, as was his sister Janette and her husband Philip, and in more recent years the wonderful services of Waltham Committee Inc.. his various Day activity centers, and Sing Along Singers, a cheerful concert group for special needs adults.
He had a large extended "clan" / family of Middletons, Cranshaws, Yellands and Farengas and thus could be at their holiday gatherings.
He was particularly close to Janette's children Deborah and Philip and the grandchildren Lauren, Alison and Audrey Farenga.
He also had many friends at his WCI residence, especially housemates Charlie and Michael, also the various caretakers of his needs, such as Ceci, Evelyn, Claude, Marie and Steve.
Eliot attended Perkins School for the Blind for several years, and could read and type Braille, sing in choirs, and swim. He enjoyed the Belmont pool, and yearly summer vacations with Janette for 30 years on Cape Cod. He appreciated church services and organ music, whether at the Methodist Church in Belmont and occasionally St Josephs on various holidays. Eliot was a good natured, well mannered and appreciative person, and stoic in adversity including during the sudden unforeseen case of Metastatic Pancreatitis, the cause of his demise.
