BEDFORD — Robert N. DeBolt, age 81, of Bedford, died March 7 at the StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford.
Born May 28, 1926, in Anderson, he was the son of Doras D. and Pansy V. (Socks) DeBolt. He was retired from the Dunn Corporation in Daytona, Fla. He had formerly managed shoe stores for the Shoe Corporation of America located in Columbus, Ohio. He last managed the store in Daytona.
He formerly was a resident of Madison for 17 years and then in Daytona, Fla., for 37 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Exchange Club in Madison. He also had served as a volunteer firefighter in Madison and Daytona. He was also an active supporter and worker for the Seventh day Adventist Church in South Daytona. He was a U.S. Army veteran and also a U.S. Merchant Marine veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda M. (Nicholson) DeBolt, of Bedford, whom he married on July 14, 1950; one sister, Virginia Renner, of Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn DeBolt, of Noblesville and Betty Bowden, of Bedford; and seven nieces, Jane Ann Renner Winningham, Toni DeBolt Hugel, Debra DeBolt Madax, Vicki DeBolt Stallman, Diana Clark, Twinkle Dawn Cummings and Trenace Orender.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Richard E. DeBolt; two brothers-in-law, Robert Renner and Ralph Bowden; one sister-in-law, Jeannette Thompson; two nephews, Joe Renner and Donovan Lee Thompson; and one nephew-in-law, Richard Winningham.
