Muriel M. "Mert" Guido, 57, of 1710 Albany Road died Jan. 24 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Born in Utica, she attended the Utica School for Practical Nursing.
She was a bus driver for New Hartford and Whitesboro schools and co-founder and treasurer of the Mohawk Trail Bus Service Inc. She was in the Naval Reserve from 1978 to 1986 and formerly was an licensed practical nurse at the Masonic Home in Utica.
Surviving are her husband, Dean; three sons, Frank of Cape Cod, Mass., Don of Frankfort and Dean Jr. of Chadwicks; two daughters, Shirley Shallies of Bechtelsville, Pa., and Laurie Guido of Frankfort; two brothers, Don Roberts of Rome and James Roberts of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three sisters, Ruth Ward of New Hartford, Florence Price and Linda Gauthier, both of Mattydale; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
