OGDEN – Carol Jean Hancock Farr passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2010.
She was born October 5, 1931 in Ogden to Winfield Hancock and Almira Wright Hancock McEntire.
She married Richard L. Farr on September 15, 1950 in Ogden, Utah. Their vows were later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Carol attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School. After graduation she worked at the Arden Sunfreeze Creameries.
She was an active member of the LDS church and served in many capacities including the Primary, Relief Society, Young Women's and as a Ward Librarian. Carol and Richard served in the Mississippi Jackson LDS Mission.
Carol loved being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing, camping in their motor home and was an excellent seamstress. She and Richard enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and took them on many vacations to Lava Hot Springs and Cherry Hills during their summers.
Carol is survived by her husband, daughter, Pamela (Michael) Hennessy, son, Denis (Pat) Farr, one brother, Douglas (LaRee) Hancock, three sisters, Deann (James E.) Chapman, Connie Stump and Patricia C. Topps all of Ogden. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and another great-grandchild to be born in December.
Carol was preceded in death by her father, mother and step-father Wesley Dee McEntire and one granddaughter.
