• Notes

  The Virginian-Pilot (Norfolk, VA) December 14, 2016 Wayne Hartwell Skinner, 80, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2016. He was predeceased by his parents, Orrin and Elsie Skinner and his loving wife of 51 years, Gloria Ann Skinner. Wayne retired as a Chief Petty Officer after serving proudly for over 20 years in the United States Navy. Wayne and his wife Ann dedicated their lives to serving God through their ministry. While he was serving in the Navy, they ministered to young men who were far from home especially during the holidays. They began Outreach for Christ in 1969 and continued with his jail and street ministry until God called him home. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Susan Carraway and her husband, Scott and Kimberly Skinner; sisters, Pam Cain, Brenda Lehi and Nadine Combs; brother, Bill Skinner and granddaughter Katelynn Ballard. Burial will follow at London Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery, Virginia Beach.
