  The Herald News (Fall River, MA) January 9, 2001 Elmer L. Wing, 87, of Elm Street, Assonet, died Monday at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Catherine L. (Buckley) Wing. Born in Assonet and a lifelong resident, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Mary H. (Frohock) Wing. Mr. Wing worked in construction for many years, including several years with K.R. Rezendes in Assonet. He also worked at the Assonet Landfill. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Wing was a member of the American Legion Post 121 in Berkley for many years. He is survived by two sons, Charles Wing of Taunton and Elmer Wing Jr. of Lakeville; four daughters, Marsha Frates of Lakeville, Cynthia Gifford of Maine, Brenda Reynolds and Ellie Wing, both of Taunton; a stepson, Henry Buckley of Middleboro; two stepdaughters, Amy Burnham of Lakeville and Jeri Goulart of New Bedford; his former wife, Ervilla (Haskins) Nunes; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
