  Providence Journal (RI) November 27, 1991 Ruth E. Manchester, 78, of 8 Starboard Ave. died yesterday at the Village House Nursing Home, Newport. She was the wife of Carlton T. Manchester Sr. Born in New Bedford, Mass., a daughter of the late Harry B. and Myra F. (Gammons) Parker, she lived in Jamestown since 1947. Mrs. Manchester was a member of Central Baptist Church and its Fidelis Chapter. Besides her husband she leaves three sons, Carlton T. "Pede" Manchester Jr. of Jamestown, William B. Manchester of Williamstown, Vt., and Samuel A. Manchester of North Kingstown; a daughter, Dorothy C. Manchester of Warwick; a brother, Robert Parker of Freetown, Mass.; a sister, Frances Wilkinson of North Kingstown; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was mother of the late John P. Manchester, and sister of the late Harry, Albert and Gladys Parker.
