GILBERT, FLORENCE, M., 89, wife of the late Ivan W. Gilbert, formerly of Cranston, died Tuesday at Orchard View Manor, East Providence. She was active in the Boys and Girl Scouts for many years and a member of the Washington Park Methodist Church, Providence.
Born in Wareham, MA, the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Hallow) Leonard, Florence was also the wife of the late Charles V. DesRoches.
She is survived by her loving family, four sons, Eugene DesRoches, Johnston, Roger DesRoches,Warwick, George DesRoches, California, Gerald DesRoches, FL, two daughters Janice St. Piere, CA, Elizabeth Gilbert, VA., 11 Grandchildern, and many Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren, one step sister Silvia Chaplinsky, CT. and she was the stepmother of the late Charles DesRoches and sister of the late Ruth L. Shaw.
