  Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin March 21, 2007 Clarence "Pa" Gates, 89, of Vestal, passed away peacefully Monday, March 19, 2007. He was predeceased by Elmer and Clara Gates, Walter and Irene Gates, and his loving sister, Frances Kingsley. He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bruce and Mary Ellen Gates, Gary Gates; one daughter, Kathleen Wunders; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Franklin and Evelyn Gates. Clarence was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. 5th Army and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a farmer and later retired from the Endicott-Johnson Corporation. He loved his dogs and to sit on his bus benches in front of the garage and overlooking the river. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
