Frances Logan Huntress
Fran passed away on August 21, 2013. She was 89 years young.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Jim Huntress and her brother Bill Logan.
Fran is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Frances and Charles Mason, Blairsville, GA; Sheila and Nick Williams, Rockledge; Diana Huntress and Mike O'Hagan, Cocoa; four grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.
Fran was a third generation Floridian, born and raised in Cocoa, graduated from Cocoa High School in 1941. While working at Banana River Naval Air Station, she met and married Jim. They traveled extensively during Jim's 23 year Naval career, including duty stations in Cuba, Japan and Newfoundland. She has lived in Rockledge since 1965 and dedicated her life to her family, friends and the community. She drove for Meals on Wheels, volunteered at Hospice, was on multiple committees at St Mary's Church, was an original member of Mosquito Beaters, and enjoyed her bridge group. She was a very active member of the Cocoa Rockledge Garden Club for 48 years. She did not know how to say "no", so she was always doing something for someone; she touched so many lives. Fran Huntress will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
