  The Portsmouth Herald (NH) April 30, 2017 DOVER, N.H. - Edward J. Huntress, 86, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born in Salem, Mass., on November 7, 1930, he was the son of George and Elizabeth (O'Neill) Huntress. Ed served in the U.S. Air Force retiring as a Major. He went on to work at the U.S. Postal Service for two decades. Ed was very active with Corpus Christi Parish in Portsmouth and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and St. Mary Assembly Fourth Degree. He was predeceased by his wife Barbara (Francis) Huntress in 2005. Survivors include his children, Karen Huntress and husband Greg Peterson, Patti Shields and husband Curtis, Stephen Huntress and wife Kim Storm; grandchildren Benjamin and Hannah Shields, Katharine and Amanda Peterson, Sommer and Annika Huntress, and great grandchild Tristan Phan.
