  Register Guard October 13, 2005 Alice Virginia Pray of Eugene died Oct. 4 of age-related causes. She was 87. The funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 8. Pray was born April 15, 1918, in San Francisco, to James and Marguerite Whitney. She married George Pray on Feb. 27, 1942. He died in 2000. As a child and teenager, she danced onstage with her three sisters as "The Whitney Sisters," and they later ran a dance studio. She taught dancing from the 1950s through the 1970s. She lived on San Francisco Peninsula until 1987, when she and her husband retired and moved to Santa Rosa, Calif. She had lived in Eugene since 2000. She enjoyed travel, dancing, needlework and music. Her family said she loved her family most of all. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Pray of Eugene; a son, Ronald of Gilroy, Calif.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
