  Carlsen Funeral Homes John F. Wipperling, 82, of Le Mars, Iowa passed away Monday, February 1, 2016 at Floyd Valley Healthcare in Le Mars, Iowa. John Fred Wipperling was born March 12, 1933 in Randolph, Nebraska to William and Louise (Papstein) Wipperling. Jon was raised on a farm near Winside, Nebraska and attended school in Winside. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from June of 1953 until his honorable discharge on May 12, 1955. In the mid 1960's John moved to a farm in Washington Township, rural Plymouth County, Iowa to farm and to feed hogs and cattle. He also had worked part time for the railroad for a few years. John will be remembered as a quiet man who was very independent. Survivors include a son Justin of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise (Papstein) Wipperling; his wife, Judy (Pitts) Wipperling; and an infant daughter, Jennifer.
