RAPID CITY - Merle B. Piearson, 96, Rapid City and formerly of Parker, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at a Rapid City nursing home.
Survivors include one son, Don Piearson, Rapid City; one brother, Glenn Speers, White Owl; and three grandchildren.

Merle was born Jan. 23, 1906 to Alvin and Clara (Pengra) Speers.
On Oct. 15, 1926, she was united in marriage to Fred "Ted" Piearson at Sioux Falls.
She attended the Dickinsons Secretarial School.
In 1933 they move to Parker. She had worked for the Shaffer Creamery, Turner County Treasurers Office, and for the ASCA Office for 25 years, retiring in 1973.
She was a member of several bowling leagues, the Parker Saddle Club, the Sioux Square Dance Culb and the United Methodist Church.
Merle graduated from Washington High School in 1926.
