  Rockford Daily Register-Gazette October 25, 1901 Mrs. George S. Haskell died this morning in Paris. Chandler Starr received a cablegram announcing the sad fact from United States Consul Gowdy at Paris. Nearly a month ago Mrs. Haskell was stricken with double typhoid-pneumonia and was taken to the hospital Maison Dubois. Sept. 30 a cablegram was received, stating that she was at the point of death. She soon rallied however, and it was believed she would be fully restored to health, and only last Sunday she attempted to write letters to friends. Her sudden death comes, therefore, as a painful surprise.
