  Reno Gazette-Journal January 9, 2012 LaVerne M Haskell October 21, 1923 January 5, 2012 LaVerne M Haskell passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2012. She was born in Oakland, CA to mother Genevieve Sullivan and father Raymond Blackmar. She attended Sparks High and lived in Reno, NV for 85 years. She retired from Sea and Ski Corporation. LaVerne was preceded in death by he beloved sister Phyllis Lette, children Sandra Gilmore, Timothy Smith and Leonard Smith, three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is survived by loving husband Fredrick Haskell, three children, Starla Coverston, Randy Smith (Juanita), Sherdeen Collins (Carl), two sisters, Iris Sullivan and Joyce Dixon, one brother, Robert "Bob" Sullivan, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1301 Cordone Ave, Suite 180, Reno, NV 99502 in the name of Frederick Haskell, surviving husband. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 pm with a service following starting at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the services at Sierra Memorial Gardens, Reno, NV, a reception will be announced following the services. .
