WARREN - Herbert A. Haskell, 87, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Warren on May 12, 2018.
He was born on Sept. 30, 1930, in Waterville, a son of Vanessa M. (Bushey) and Leonard L. Haskell. Herbert was affectionately known as "Red" by family and friends.
Herbert cherished his relationships with his many family members. He enjoyed returning to his childhood home in Winslow to visit with his sisters and many nieces and nephews. All who met Herbert quickly found out how people friendly he was. When he would meet someone for the first time, he would ask questions so he could know as much about the person and their family. Herbert's favorite pastime was watching vintage cowboy shows on television.
Herbert is survived by his two sisters, Gloria J. Datsis and her husband John and Thelma Martin, both of Winslow; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Rosalie Dolly and Priscilla Wentworth and three brothers, Chester Haskell, Arthur Haskell and William L. Haskell.
Herbert will be greatly missed by his family and his caregiving family at Riverwood Ranch Boarding Home in Warren.
