Robert (Bob) Lewis Haskell, 84, passed away on August 13, 2020, in San Antonio, TX. He was born on April 5,1936, in Culdesac, Idaho, to Henry and Wilena Haskell.
The youngest of 5 siblings, Bob grew up and attended school in Culdesac. He loved his roots in Idaho and made many life-long friends.
Bob joined the Air Force in 1954 and, after being selected, attended the NCO Academy, where he graduated in 1974. His service included 2 tours in England and duty stations across the U.S. The highlight of his career was his assignment at the Pentagon before finally retiring in San Antonio.
After 30 years of service, Bob retired as Chief Master Sergeant, the highest enlisted rank of the Air Force. He received numerous awards and commendation medals throughout his career.
It was on his first tour in England, where Bob met, fell in love and married his wife, Judith Mary Blanchfield, at Everingham Church in 1957. Bob and Judy raised two wonderful sons, Kelly Robert and Steven Jon.
After 60 years of marriage, Judy passed away in May 2018. In addition to his wife, Bob was also preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jack, Sherlene, Donna, and George, all of Idaho.
Bob is survived by his two sons, Kelly Robert, and his wife, Brenda of Dripping Springs, TX, and Steven Jon of San Antonio, TX; two granddaughters, Stephanie Malek of Washington state, and Devon Farrell and her husband, Kyle, of Wimberley, TX; two grandsons, Justin Lee of Medford, OR, and Dillon Shane of San Antonio, TX; four great-grandchildren, Robert Anthony and Sophie Renee of Washington state and Texas; Carson Allen and Jimmie Louis of Wimberley, TX; and his extended family back in Idaho and in England.
