  The Hartford Courant (CT) December 10, 2000 Barbara Barrie'' (Livermore) Shaw, 87, wife of Richard L. Shaw (Col. USAR ret.) of Walbridge Road, West Hartford, passed away suddenly Friday, (December 8, 2000). Born September 10, 1913 in Reading, MA to Harold Livermore and Harriett Foster, Barrie was educated in Newton, MA schools and graduated from Vassar College in 1935. She was an avid tennis player and skier and was active in the early years of the Hartford Tennis Club and the Hartford Ski Club. She spent many years as a volunteer with the Woman's Exchange of West Hartford, and the Hartford Council of the Girl Scouts of America. She was a member of the Town and County Club of Hartford, the Vassar Club and College Club of Hartford. She is survived by her husband, Richard; and her three children and their spouses, Jonathan and Kathleen Shaw of Rockport, TX, David and Geraldine Shaw of Haddam, and Deborah and Alfred Macchi of Ashland, MA. She had three granddaughters, Alexandra and Catherine Macchi and Elizabeth Shaw; and two step-grandchildren, Patrick and Maureen McGrath.
