James R. "Bob" Skiles, 72, of Arvada, a contractor, died Sept. 6 in Wheat Ridge. Services were Sept. 11 at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. Interment was in Crown Hill Cemetery.
He was born May 3, 1929, in Greeley. He served with the Navy for 22 years. On Oct. 23, 1971, he married June Thompson in San Diego. Skiles was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, Fleet Reserve Association, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His interests included golf.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Geri Pierce, Tacoma, Wash.; a son, Mike, Tacoma; a stepson, James Corwin, Arvada; a sister, Donna Mae Wilson, Kearney, Neb.; two brothers, Donn, Denver, and Glenn, Arvada; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
