  The Cabinet Press Howard Francis Parkhurst, age 94, died quietly with family the evening of Nov. 22, 2012 at his residence in Cumberland Furnace, TN. He was a native of Hollis and Amherst, NH. He was self employed most of his life as a selective forester for the area and town of Hollis, and many years as a dairy man, produced quality horse hay, lumber for woodworkers and also nursery stock for landscapers. Serving for nineteen years on the Amherst Conservation Committee, eighteen years as the treasurer, also on several of the town committees including a place for senior citizens to meet and assisted living facility now known as Parkhurst Place of Amherst. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson Noyes and Hazel O. Marshall Parkhurst, a brother Winston Henry Parkhurst of Hollis and Howard's wife Shirley Storm Parkhurst of Hollis and Amherst. He is survived by two brothers and their families, Austin S. Parkhurst of Hollis, NH and Arthur S. Parkhurst of Indianapolis, IN; A son, Warren H. Parkhurst and a daughter, Elizabeth C. Quinn, both of Dickson, TN; a granddaughter, Christina, wife of Michael Forst, their daughter Michaela and son Emerson of Naples FL; and a stepson, James Boggio of Dexter NM.
