  Des Moines Register March 5, 2018 Helen Kay Lemon Of Des Moines, Iowa Kay Lemon, age 84, passed away on March 1, 2018 at Mercy Hospice, Johnston. Kay was born April 3, 1933 in Tama, Iowa. Kay graduated from East High class of '52. Kay married George Lemon, Jr. in 1958 - 1977. She worked for Equitable Life Insurance of Iowa and retired in 1992. She later worked at the Iowa State Fair Grounds part-time. Kay was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. She will be remembered most as an animal lover who loved her dogs and cats. Above all, she treasured time spent with family. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving son, Kevin Lemon; sister, Karen (Larry) Samson; brother, Steve (Lisa) Haskell; and several nieces and nephews. Kay was preceded in death by her son, Kelly; parents, William and Emma Haskell; brother, Tom (Judy) Haskell and their son, Chad.
