  The Journal Times February 05, 1959 BURLINGTON - A prominent Burlington retail bisinessman, George H. Haskell, 76, of 564 Washington St,, died Wednesday at Burlington Memorial Hospital after a short illness. For the last 20 years Haskell operated a women's appareel shop at 670 Pine St. He came to Burlington in 1923, when he purchased the Rosenberg Conpany, a departmen store in the building now occupied by Montgomery Ward. Born on Dec. 21, 1882, on Picton, Ontario, Canada, Haskell moved to Chicago when he was 16. For 25 years he was a salesman for Carson, Pirie Sxott and Co., Chicago, before coming to Burlington. On April 29, 1919. in Milwaukee, he was married to the former He;en Doctor. Surviving are his wife, Helen; one son George Haskell Jr., one daughter, Lois Haskell, both of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Bock, Milwaukee, and Mts. John Morgan, Arlington Heights, Ill.
