Van Dorn, 73, of Liberty Street, a resident of the Albion area most of her life, died Friday (May 4, 2001) at United Memorial Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Van Dorn was born Dec. 5, 1927, in Rochester. She was a member of Jericho Fellowship Church. Her husband, Jesse Van Dorn, died in 1985. Surviving are her children, Elizabeth Jorgenson of Michigan, Starr (Rick) Basham of South Carolina, Ellen (Larry) Herring of Kent, Kathi (Dale) Barber of Florida, Wendy (Tom) Ramsey of West Virginia, Donna Nicholas of Missouri, Marsha (Bob Platten) Van Dorn of Batavia, Jesse (Betty) Van Dorn of Elmira, Tracy (Tony Mingone) Davenport of Holley and Cindy (Leon) Inch of Pennsylvania; a brother, Donald (Darl) Ryan of Holley; 33 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
