Michael was born in Ann Arbor on June 27, 1961 the son of Donald and Rosemary (Roth) Johnston. Michael was resourceful, hard working and reliable; he had a zest for life whether in business or his personal endeavors. He was an adventurer who traveled the world; he tried skydiving, cliff diving and many other exhilarating ex-periences. He was a national trainer for the Packaging Store franchise and owned and operated The Ann Arbor Packaging Store for 23 years. Michael was a loyal friend with a kind and gentle spirit, "the person you could always count on for help." He leaves behind his parents, Donald and Rosemary Johnston; sister, Susan Colleen (Kevin) Vivian; brother, Daniel Kevin Johnston and sister, Mary Kathryn Stasiak; aunt and uncles, Thomas Johnston, William (Donna) Johnston and Walter Roth; nieces and nephews, Michael Thomas, Erin Kathryn and Kelly Roth Vivian, Courtney Rose, Alexander Byrne and Connor William Johnston, Sarah Vivian and Ryan Michael Stasiak; cousin and friend, Norman Johnston; special friends, Kelley Crowe and Rafael Reyes and many other close and special friends.
