  The Dispatch-Argus (Moline, IL) August 8, 2005 Doris R. Talbot, 87, a resident of the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Geneseo, formerly of Rapids City, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005. The former Doris R. Lindquist was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Racine, Wis., the only child of Lawrence and Ruth Larson Lindquist. She married Elbert L. Talbot on Feb. 23, 1935, in Moline. He died June 3, 1975. Her hobbies were reading, sewing and needlework. She also loved tending to her flower gardens and baking. Being with her family and church family were very important to her. She worked at John Deere Harvester during World War II. She also cleaned houses for several years, but most of her life was spent being a homemaker. She will be remembered for her "Card Ministry" as she sent cards to family, friends and relatives for every occasion. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Irvin Linn, Orion; a son and daughter-in-law, Lyle and Inez Talbot, Hampton; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; five great-great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Larry; and one grandson.
