FORREST - James W. Folwell Jr., 76, a resident of ASTA Care Center of Pontiac, formerly of Forrest, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday (Oct. 12, 2001) at the care center.
Mr. Folwell was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Knox, Ind., a son of James and Gertrude Arnold Folwell Sr. He married Katherine M. Talbot on Feb. 25, 1946, in Pontiac. She died Jan. 13, 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Toni Hembree and Nisa (Brian) Schaffer, both of Forrest; one son, James Folwell III, Strawn; one sister, Yvonne (George) Perks, Springfield; two brothers, Weldon (Hilde) Folwell, Junction City, Kan.; and Robert (Rosie) Folwell, Fayetteville, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
His parents, one son and one daughter preceded him in death.
Mr. Folwell was retired from driving trucks for PRD Trucking, Forrest.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was an avid Cubs fan, bowler and card player.
