  Duluth News Tribune (MN) September 25, 2016 Diane Arietta (Elder) Bednar, 73, passed away peacefully Sept. 21, 2016, at her home in Mokena, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents Caroline and Donald Watters, andWilliamElder;herbrother Charles Elder; and her dear daughter Kimberlee. She is survived by her bestfriendandbelovedhusband of 53 years, Gary Bednar ; her precious daughters Terri (Mike) Ward and Jennie (Dave) Richards; her brother Steven (Fay) Elder and sister Donna Swanson. Diane cherished her grandchildren Calley, Jessica, Megan, Mallory, Lexie, Michael, Matthew, Zack, Mark and Jake, and her two great-grandsons. She treasured all of her sisters- and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, Proctor High Schoolclassmates(PHS61), Chicago friends, Thomas Courtneighbors,Paloslabor and delivery nurses, and St. Mary's Parish friends. Diane loved her career as a nurse, camping and traveling adventures, cooking, quilting, gardening, cross stitching, games and cards. She taught her loved ones to appreciate "Life's Bursts of Joy."
