  Daniel Noyes Haskell was an editor of the Boston Transcript newspaper. He was unmarried. The following from Appleton's Cyclopedia of American Biography: Daniel Noyes Haskell HASKELL, Daniel Noyes, journalist, born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, 1 January, 1818; died in Boston, Massachusetts, 13 November, 1874. He was the son of a carriage-trimmer, and after receiving a good education engaged in business. He wrote constantly for the press, and in 1853 became editor of the "Boston Transcript," which post he held until his death. He took an active part in politics as a Whig, but was indifferent to official honors. Later be was a supporter of the liberal branch of the Whig party, and afterward became a Republican.
