SOUTH HOPE — Laura Jane Pushaw, 84, died Oct. 22, 2010 peacefully at her home after a brief illness.
Laura was a life long resident of South Hope and a graduate of Union High School. After graduating high school she worked at the fish factory in Rockland along with her sisters, Hope Crabtree and Lucy Bowley.
She married Donald G. Pushaw on Sept. 1, 1946. Together they had three children. She also worked 17 years at Van Baalen's factory in Rockland. Laura's favorite things in life were being with her family and friends, animals, the color red, country music and dancing at the Blue Goose in Northport with her husband Donald. Laura was the center of her family and always had an open heart for all family and friends. Most considered Laura a second mother and her home a second home.
Laura was predeceased by her father Maynard Haskell Bowley, mother Margaret Dornnan Bowley, brother Daniel James Bowley, sister Hope Bowley Crabtree and sister Lucy Bunker Bowley.
Laura will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 64 years, Donald Pushaw, son Maynard J Pushaw and wife Mary of South Hope, son Gerald W. Pushaw and wife Sandra of West Rockport, daughter Susan Pushaw of South Hope, family dog Mandy and two parrots; five grandchildren Penelope J. Rich and husband David, Maynard D. Pushaw and wife Samantha, Gerald K. Pushaw and wife Tammy, Sherry L. Casas and husband Jesse and Megan Marquis; 12 great-grandchildren who have many great memories of grandma."
