MERRILL – Charles H. Austin Sr., 58, died July 2, 2006, in Houlton. He was born Nov. 2, 1947, in Gorham, the son of Everett and Alice (Gavett) Austin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Carolyn (Sproul) Austin of Parsonsfield; three children, Deanna and her husband, Duane Durgin, of Parsonsfield, Charles Austin Jr. of Merrill and Jared Matthew Austin of Parsonsfield; four grandchildren, Meghan and Nicholas Durgin, Ann Marie Austin-Hall and Marykate Hall; three siblings, Ellen and her husband, Ronald Turcotte, of Sabattus, Fred and his wife, Carmen Austin, of Standish and Cheryl and her husband, Roger Stevens, of Merrill; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents.
