NORTH ANSON - Timothy C. "Doc" Howell, 64, died on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2014, at the Togus VA Center following a long illness. He was born on July 9, 1950, in Augusta to Charles A. and Phyllis E. (Haskell) Howell. Tim graduated from Anson Academy with the class of 1969.
He served with the United States Navy. He has worked at numerous jobs from a cook to being a carpenter. He loved music, playing his guitar and singing. He was very passionate about veterans of all wars, especially of the Vietnam War, always faithfully hanging the American and POW flags. Tim was a member of the Tardiff-Belanger Post #39 American Legion in Madison. He was always willing to help friends and family in any way he could, often volunteering to get anyone where they needed to be while he was still driving. Tim was always a kind and gentle man, he will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father and grandparents.
Timothy is survived by his children, Katrina Allen of North Anson, and Gabriel Steward and his companion Amanda Shaw of North Anson; three grandchildren, Justin Steward, Korinda Wyman, and Spencer Shaw; his mother, Phyllis E. (Haskell) Howell; a brother Forrest A. Howell and his wife Karen of Embden, sisters, Dianne Swett of Bangor, ME, and Ellen Howell of North Anson; several aunts, uncles; nieces, nephews and cousins; dear friends Larry and Suzanne and his beloved cat Gabby.
